SOLUTIONS
"If the only tool you have is a hammer, then all of your problems look like nails."
CONFLICT RESOLUTION
A conflict is a problem in search of a solution. Addressing conflict inside a nonprofit organization, NGO, Synagogue or other Jewish organization takes patience, skill, communication, mindfulness, and an assortment of related tools. Primarily, it takes a willingness to engage and move forward rather than settling for status quo, or worse, a deteriorating environment. Conflict provides opportunities to learn, to listen, and to develop new understandings. Sometimes it is wise to separate the people from the problem, and sometimes the people are the problem. Based on techniques and tools created at the Harvard Program on Negotiation and other pedagogy, we will help you build bridges towards win-win outcomes.
LEADERSHIP
Among the leadership at a synagogue might be the board, clergy, lay leaders, committee members, volunteers, faculty, and youth groups. Leaders need training and an organization needs a direction, a vision, a purpose and a mission. Successful leadership requires an investment in understanding how to communicate, and especially how to listen. We will bring you new insights and effective tools for leaders now and in the future, based on skills and experience brought to Fortune 500 companies, international settings, nonprofit organizations and other synagogues. Leadership transition, whether clergy, administrative, board or committees are often moments of great tension and fear. Planning and thoughtful, mindful approaches to these transitions are vital to successful implementation.
RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT
Fund raising, advancement, development...call it what you will...yet bringing in the resources it takes to operate, sustain and perhaps grow your synagogue is an ongoing task. Resources, including financial as well as volunteer "sweat equity" are vital to the health and sustenance of any synagogue. We will help you understand and assess tools for fund raising, volunteer management, donor analysis, membership recruitment and retention, that are specific to the needs and interests of your synagogue and congregation.
Nonprofit organizations should call themselves Social Profit organizations, and those engaged in raising funds for them are Social Prophets, Lynne Twist, The Soul of Money
